Edi Carlos Gonzales is a Peruvian-American journalist with over 34 years of experience covering U.S. and Latin American issues, specializing in immigration and border affairs. Born in Lima, Perú, he began his career in bilingual media in Salt Lake City before joining KBNT TV17, Univision San Diego, in 1990, where he served as Reporter and then a Senior Investigative Reporter until 2022.

 An Emmy Award winner and Journalist of the Year honoree from the California Latino Journalists Association, Mr. Gonzales is recognized for his ethical reporting, community advocacy, and environmental activism. He has led media workshops with ACCESO Project across America and is the founder of CGN Noticias (cgn-noticias.com) a San Diego–based digital news outlet with correspondents in Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, and Peru.

 CGN Noticias recently partnered with Japan Inspire and 2nioku to bring arts, culture, gastronomy, anime, sports, and entertainment news to audiences in English, Spanish, and Japanese.
